The Stables at Palmer Gulch operates with a USFS special use permit.

Join us for a customized hour or hour and a half horseback tour of the renowned Norbeck Wildlife Preserve. Established by Congress in 1920 the Preserve and Wilderness area provides spectacular scenery that no other trail ride barn can match. Why ride anywhere else?

Each ride is personalized for your group and takes place entirely in the Black Hills National Forest.

CHUCK WAGON BREAKFAST RIDES

Start your day with a remarkable breakfast in a remote mountain meadow!

  • Load up the family in a horse-drawn covered wagon for a leisurely ride into the misty morning air.
  • Chuck Wagon Breakfasts feature fresh scrambled eggs peppered to perfection, Bronc Buster hash, Bacon and beef, chopped potatoes, onions, peppers, and tart apple oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar
  • Kids 3-7 will have the option to partake in a free pony ride while at the breakfast site.
